Demi Chen and Eton Lin, competing under the team name Pickachu, recently won the Junior Achievement of British Columbia's online stock market challenge.

A press release from the organization notes the duo competed against more than 700 teams from British Columbia and Alberta.

As part of the Junior Achievement of British Columbia's Investment Strategies program, the six-week interactive simulation saw the students trading and investing to grow an initial investment of $100,000. At the end of the competition, the Pickachu team had the top performing portfolio with a total of $148,946 as of market close on December 9, 2011. Their teacher Mariam Pirbhai and Junior Achievement volunteer Steve Wilson helped coach the students, who researched companies and made trades online before and after school. Junior Achievement is a not-for-profit organization that strives to educate young people about business.
