The District of West Vancouver is restricting access to three more popular parks because they were drawing too many visitors close together in violation of the province’s orders to physically distance ourselves from others.

As of 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, district staff have closed the gates to the parking lots at Whytecliff Park, Lighthouse Park and Whyte Lake to discourage people from coming in.

Public drinking fountains are also being turned off across the district.

It follows all three municipalities on the North Shore closing their playgrounds, sports facilities, skate parks and fields amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
