The Delta Community Animal Shelter posted a video to Facebook Sunday of an owl being released in Delta’s Watershed Park.

The owl was brought into the shelter in November and was kept safe and warm overnight after a serious accident, the post noted. After a night of close monitoring he was transferred to Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society for further care.

“OWL took this beautiful bird into their care and rehabilitated him over the course of approximately 4 months,” the post explained. “This brave bird lost an eye during his accident but has made a wonderful recovery!”

The shelter added its “grateful to work closely with such dedicated wildlife warriors who work round' the clock to help our wild critters in the times they need us most!”
