North Vancouver RCMP are hoping witnesses will come forward after an early morning vandal smashed the windshields of more than a dozen cars in Lower Lonsdale.
According to police, surveillance footage from the area captured a dark figure using a tool of some kind to puncture the glass on vehicles parked on the 100 block of East First Street, Oct. 16.
“The calls started coming in around 6:30 a.m. when people went to their cars and discovered the front windshield smashed,” said Cpl. Richard De Jong. “If you saw anything, know anything, if you’ve got video of that area, check it maybe. We’re looking for any tips.”
The cost to replace a windshield varies from car to car but $8,000 would be a good bet for the total damages, De Jong said.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
