Police have ruled out foul play in the death of an individual whose body was found on North Vancouvers Mount Fromme Wednesday.
A group of mountain bikers stumbled on the remains about three kilometres from the Saint Marys trailhead on Braemar Road just before 5 p.m. The bikers called in North Vancouver RCMP, who examined the scene and soon deemed the death not to be suspicious. Firefighters later removed the body by stretcher.
Investigators say they have identified the victim, but arent releasing a name or even a gender until they have notified next of kin. Its not clear if the death was accidental.
This is the second body found in North Vancouver woodlands in the space of two weeks. The remains of a woman were recovered from Lynn Creek after they floated to the surface near the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge July 13. No foul play is suspected in that incident.
