UNIVERSITY of British Columbia researchers are investigating the effect of participation in a stroke recovery program on community reintegration and life satisfaction for stroke survivors and caregivers.
According to a press release, community members are invited to take part, either stroke survivors and/or caregivers, who are living on the North Shore.
The study is being conducted by principal investigator Dr. Tal Jarus, and her team from the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at UBC, and the Stroke Recovery Association of British Columbia. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires and perform assessments related to their health and well being. Participation will be needed at the beginning of the study, and after six and nine months. An honorarium will be provided. Eligibility includes someone who: is living in the community and has had a stroke; can read and write in English; can provide informed consent; doesn't have limited performance in life activities due to factors other than stroke (like orthopedic problems).
