TWO people from Port Coquitlam are facing 64 charges in connection with a spate of credit card thefts from cars in North Vancouver parks.
Tara Maria Zerr, 38, and Jason Scott White, 37, were arrested May 8 after Mounties raided their homes in Port Coquitlam.
The charges stem from a pattern of crimes that emerged between mid-March to mid-April this year when North Vancouver RCMP received a series of calls from distressed park visitors who said their vehicles had been broken into while they were enjoying the great outdoors.
The thieves had zeroed in on the victims' credit cards, which they later used to buy fuel, tires, gift cards, electronics and other goods at stores throughout the Lower Mainland, according to police. All told, some $30,000 worth of merchandise was obtained illegally.
Investigators seized a vehicle during the bust.
