For a laugh

Jokers Canada is back in the Tri-Cities for another show at the Terry Fox Theatre (1260 Riverwood Gate, Port Coquitlam). Comedians John Cullen, Byron Bertram, Harris Anderson, Nicole Tanner and Niki Mohrdar will take the stage for the Port Coquitlam Comedy Classic starting at 7 p.m.

Art works

Tour the civic galleries in Port Coquitlam to see the artwork up until April 23. ART & Justice has its Shift collection in the Michael Wright Art Gallery in the Gathering Place at Leigh Square (2253 Leigh Sq.) while Molly Gray is showing Avifauan in The Outlet Gallery at Leigh Square. Finally Fall by Amber Nordstrand is up in the city hall gallery (2580 Shaughnessy St.) and The Power of Being a Woman by Ania Salmina can be seen in the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.).

Drag story time

Families are invited to the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way) for a drag storytime reading — a presentation of the Coquitlam Public Library. The spring break event is open to all ages and takes place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the studio theatre. No registration is required for the free reading; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Be a member

Find out how to be a member of the Wilson Seniors Advisory Association at a free information session at 1 p.m. Tea and coffee will be served. The event takes place in the Wilson Lounge at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.).

Forest Understory Walk

Take a walk around Como Lake with the City of Coquitlam's Park Spark team to learn about the trees, flora and fauna. Meet at 1:30 p.m. at the northern end of the park (1205 Regan Ave.) by the washrooms.

Documentary screening

Watch Fracking the Peace, a 35-minute documentary about climate action. The event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. is in Rooms 136 and 137 in the City Centre branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (1169 Pinetree Way) and is in partnership with Forces of Nature.

Community Nowruz Celebration

Celebrate the Persian New Year at Mackin House (1116 Brunette Ave.) with Coquitlam Heritage. Drinks and food will be provided, as well as craft activities for kids, at no cost. The event is a drop-in from 7 to 9 p.m.; no registration is required.
