WINTER'S chill zaps skin of its moisture.
Exposure to the cold and whipping winds outdoors as well as the drying effects of indoor heating can leave skin chapped, flaky and dulllooking.
To combat the elements, Clinique introduces Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator ($43) this month.
The new product builds on the strengths of the original Moisture Surge, launched in 1988, with a new cream-gel formulation intended for very dry to dry combination skin types.
Clinique claims the product will give skin a dewy, supple look and stay comfortably plumped for up to 24 hours.
Moisture Surge Intense hydrates skin with the help of a cocktail of ingredients that include oliva squalane, red algae extract, glycerin and aloe. The product claims to strengthen the skin's own moisture barrier and to help repair it with natural extracts of wheat bran and olive as well as vitamin B6 and cholesterol.
Clinique says clinical results show skin's moisture is increased by more than 40 per cent after eight weeks when applied morning and night.
