Transit changes for holidays

DURING the peak of the holiday season, TransLink will be adjusting schedules. Keep these timetable amendments in mind when planning your trip to and from the North Shore.

Keep these timetable amendments in mind when planning your trip to and from the North Shore.

Remember: on a holiday you only need a one-zone fare to travel across all zones.

Monday Dec. 24

All SkyTrain, bus and SeaBus routes will run normal weekday schedules.

Tuesday Dec. 25

The majority of bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule, but some of the least-ridden routes will run less frequently.

The adjustments are: ? The 211 Seymour/Phibbs Exchange/Vancouver will run every 30 minutes with service to Phibbs Exchange only (no trips to downtown Vancouver).

? The 239 will be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes from Park Royal to Capilano University.

? The 240 15th Street/ Vancouver will be adjusted down to every 30 minutes.

? The C15 Indian River/ Phibbs Exchange/Deep Cove will operate on a regular Sunday schedule but will not begin service until 9 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

Most bus routes in Metro Vancouver will run on Sunday schedules, but routes that typically see high volumes on Boxing Day (ones close to major shopping areas) will run on Saturday schedules.

Buses running on Saturday schedules are: ? The 99 Commercial/ Broadway-UBC (B-Line) ? The 130 Metrotown/ Capilano University ? The 236 Grouse Mountain/ Lonsdale Quay

The SeaBus will begin running at the Sunday start time of 8: 16 a.m. but last sailing will be at 1: 22 a.m.

The 228 Lynn Valley/ Lonsdale Quay and the 239 Capilano University/Park Royal will run later in order to connect with the extended SeaBus schedule.

SkyTrain will run on Saturday schedules but will have more trains running throughout the middle of the day to accommodate increased ridership from shoppers.

Free transit fares begin at 5 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1.

The SeaBus will run regular service until 1: 16 a.m. from Waterfront, then add two more sailings to North Vancouver from Waterfront, at 1: 46 and 2: 22 a.m.

The Expo and Millennium SkyTrain lines will have extended services, with the last train leaving Waterfront for King George at 2: 16 a.m.

The last Canada Line departure from Waterfront to YVR-Airport will be at 2: 05 a.m. and the last departure from Waterfront to Richmond-Brighouse at 2: 15 a.m.

Many bus routes will run late into the wee hours of the morning, overlapping at times with NightBus service: ? The 209 Upper Lynn Valley: last ride will be 1: 50 a.m. from Burrard Station.

? The 230 Upper Lonsdale: last ride from Lonsdale Quay will be 2: 38 a.m.

? The 250 Vancouver/ Horseshoe Bay: last ride from Horseshoe Bay will be 1: 10 a.m. Last rides from downtown Vancouver will be 1: 10, 1: 40 and 2: 10 a.m.

? The 256 Folkstone Way/ Whitby Estates will leave Park Royal every 60 minutes from 8: 25 p.m. to 1: 25 a.m. and leave Chippendale at Westhill every 60 minutes from 8: 44 p.m. to 1: 44 a.m.

? The C12 Caulfeild will leave Brunswick every 60 minutes from 8: 13 p.m. to 1: 13 a.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

All services will run on Sunday schedules.

Normal scheduling resumes Jan. 2
