CLOCKS across B.C. jumped one hour forward this Saturday night for the beginning of daylight savings time.
However, ICBC is warning motorists to be ready for drowsy drivers during Monday morning's commute.
According to an ICBC survey, 34 per cent of drivers reported feeling less alert following the lost hour of sleep.
The insurance corporation advises drivers to be ready for darker morning commutes, to keep an eye out for pedestrians and cyclists, and to get a good night's sleep on Sunday.
Daylight savings time was pioneered in 1895 by New Zealand shift-worker and astronomer George Vernon Hudson.
