Starting Thursday morning, any generous souls hoping to support the 34 Lynn Valley residents displaced by Monday’s fire can make their contribution at the mall.
Clothes, toiletries, bedding are being accepted from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday at the Bosa Presentation Centre in Lynn Valley Centre.
Good Samaritans can also donate at the Lynn Valley Lions Club trailer, which is set to be parked by the beer garden during the Lynn Valley Days festivities Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.
The fire swept through Mountain Village Garden Apartments just off Whiteley Court at 2:30 a.m. Monday, killing two. Another 16 were hospitalized.
The donations are earmarked to 17 adults, eight young children and nine teenagers.
The items most needed include unopened feminine products, deodorant, shampoo, new or gently used clothing as well as bedding and towels. No blankets, pillows or furniture are needed at this time, according to a release from the Lynn Valley Lions Club.
