Police are hoping the public can help them find a missing North Vancouver teen after an all-night search turned up no sign of the at-risk youth.

Milena Nordwall, 17, vanished from her home in the 400-block of East 15th Street at about 9:30 p.m. Monday while she was having dinner with her parents.

Nordwall, on a day pass from B.C. Childrens Hospital at the time, suffers from a serious medical condition that could pose a danger to herself or to others, according to investigators. She was also not wearing a jacket, meaning she is at risk of exposure.

We're worried, said Sgt. Peter DeVries, a spokesman for the North Vancouver RCMP, in a release. Last night temperatures came close to zero, and we've known her to hide in ditches, sheds and wooded areas to avoid being found."

Police officers and a canine unit scoured the neighbourhood overnight without success.

Nordwall is five feet four inches tall with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black hoodie with an animal skull print on it, black pants and black runners.

This is the second time Nordwall has disappeared in just over a month. The teen touched off a major search Dec. 14 when she walked away from Lions Gate Hospital. She was later tracked down by a dog team.
