Tatsumi
Directed by Eric Khoo (Singapore, 2011, 96 mins, Blu-ray Disc) Khoo's first animated feature is a heartfelt tribute to Tatsumi Yoshihiro, the man who invented gekiga (dark and realistic manga for adults) in 1957. The film juxtaposes episodes of Tatsumi-sensei's life story (drawn from his manga autobiography A Drifting Life) with animated versions of five of his most famous short stories.
