Construction has started on portions of Bellevue Avenue in West Vancouver, which will see the removal of trees in order to make way for upgrades.

Work began Tuesday to install underground utilities as well as reinstate temporary concrete curbs, asphalt and sidewalks between the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Bellevue. The elevation of this stretch of road will also be raised.

Nine mature cherry trees will be removed from the street. The 1300 block will be closed to cars, cyclists and pedestrians to mid-June.
