RCMP hunt for hit-and-run SUV

Donuts damage parked cars

IF you and a few friends spent a late February evening doing donuts and crashing into three parked cars in the Mt. Seymour parking lot, the police would like a word with you.

And they have your tail light.

North Vancouver RCMP are hoping someone from the public can help lead them to the suspects who witnesses spotted driving recklessly on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Police are looking for a 1996 or 1997 dark navy or black Ford Explorer, possibly missing its passenger side tail light.

RCMP officers set up two roadblocks in the area after it was reported, but the suspect vehicle and its three occupants never showed up.

Anyone who may have seen the damaged SUV is asked to contact the RCMP at 604985-1311.

"Providing a licence plate number to the police will assist in holding the culprit responsible for their criminal actions," said Cpl. Richard De Jong, North Vancouver RCMP spokesman.
