An enormous rubber duck floats towards a city shoreline, a gigantic aluminum creates an urban mountain range, and a house made of twigs appears on a downtown plaza, these modern art events provide unique connections. Every city has its own art galleries but when art comes into public spaces there can be surprising responses. Unexpected installations offer a chance to see your surroundings in a new light and to be awed by the creative process. Jenny Molissa Spring presents 58 site-specific installations from a global collection of artists. They are all shown through colour photographs and with accompanying descriptions. Some are transient in the extreme, such as the Nimbus works by Berndnalit Smilde of cloud-like apparitions created indoors, and others like Christine Finley's "Wallpapered Dumpsters" beautify a neglected part of the urban landscape.

Each one offers a fresh viewpoint and in almost every case a chance to physically connect with the artwork.
