Police have taken over the investigation of a fire that took place in Caledonia Trailer Park this morning (Nov. 9).

According to Prince George Fire Rescue, a blaze caused $65,000 in damages to a mobile home, but fortunately, no one was in the residence when the incident occurred.

Crews from three different halls responded to the call on North Nechako Road around 6:30 a.m.

Smoke and flames were seen from the back of the structure and firefighters went on the defensive attack from the exterior, which allowed them to extinguish it quickly.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and Mounties are investigating.
