Free outdoor movie nights are coming back to Port Coquitlam, known as Cinema Under the Stars, and the it appears the city was able to secure a pair of recent blockbusters for the 2023 edition.
This year's line-up is as follows:
- Jumanji: The Next Level
- July 29 – 9:15 p.m. at Evergreen Park
- Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Danny DeVito
- Super Mario Bros. Movie
- Aug. 20 – 8:45 p.m. at Gates Park
- Voiced by Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Seth Rogen
- Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
- Aug. 26 – 8:45 p.m. at Evergreen Park
- Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel
The family-friendly screenings will be projected onto an enormous 40-foot tall silver screen on three separate occasions in two PoCo parks at dusk, according to a news release.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own snacks, beverages, blankets and lawn chairs for any or all of the three shows.
There will also be family-friendly activities, games and entertainment prior to the start of each movie.
