Vancouver is often regarded as a city with plenty of natural beauty thanks to its location on the edge of North America, framed by the mountains along the Pacific Ocean.
It's Canada's biggest port, but it's also had Olympic competitions at one of the local ski hills. The seawall is one of the most popular activities in the city, but the Capilano Suspension Bridge is also one of the most popular sites in the city. Both ocean and mountain activities are attractions for locals and visitors.
So is Vancouver an ocean city or a mountain city, on balance? That was a question posed to V.I.A. readers recently.
The ocean side was the winner, but the mountains definitely had supporters, with essentially a 60-40 split in the vote. Both readers in the city and in general online seemed to agree.
