WEST Vancouver police are appealing to the good Samaritan who helped an injured cyclist June 27 to contact them with more details about the hit-and-run accident.
The 22-year-old victim was hit by a car as he biked south on Taylor Way near Inglewood Avenue in West Vancouver. The driver of the car didn't stop after hitting the cyclist.
A woman who stopped to help after the accident used the cyclist's phone to call for help. The man was taken to Lions Gate Hospital by ambulance and later released. His injuries were minor, said police.
"We're hoping that the Samaritan who stopped to help him will see our press release and call in, because we don't know who she is," said Const. Tammy Khorram, a spokeswoman for the West Vancouver police. "We would love to hear from her, and anybody else who witnessed the incident."
While the intersection isn't particularly bad for cyclists, said Khorram, it is one of West Vancouver's "high incident crash sites."
