The North Vancouver RCMP is asking anyone with information on the well-being of a barefoot man seen scaling the waterfall by the Suspension Bridge in Lynn Canyon Park on Nov. 8 to call the police.

A barefoot man scaling the rocks next to a waterfall upstream from the Suspension Bridge earlier this week has police scratching their heads over who he was and where he might’ve gone.

On Nov. 8, North Vancouver RCMP were called to the park after witnesses saw the mysterious man climbing the 90-foot waterfall and lying down on a small ledge adjacent to it.

By the time police arrived the man had vanished from the scene, and police say they’re concerned he may have fallen into the creek. A search of the scene by the RCMP and North Shore Search and Rescue yielded no results.

The Coast Guard also searched the outlet and did not locate the man.

“While it is possible the male departed the park safely, the RCMP is concerned the male may have fallen into Lynn Creek,” stated Cpl. Sue Tupper in a media release. “The RCMP only seeks to check the male’s well-being and is not investigating him for any criminal offence.”

The man was described as Caucasian, wearing red and black pajama-like pants, a brown and black jacket, and a black, grey and white toque.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP at 604-969-7568.
