Photos + Video: RibFest turns Port Moody's Rocky Point Park into a meat-lovers' paradise

The event is a fundraiser for Port Moody Rotary

Port Moody’s Rocky Point Park became a meat-lover’s paradise over the weekend with the return of RibFest.

Seven ribbers — including Port Moody’s own champion grill master, Rusty Johnson — competed for the tastebuds of thousands of hungry visitors, who were also able to enjoy a variety of live music, as well as activities like rock climbing in the family zone.

The annual event is a fundraiser for Rotary of Port Moody, which supports several community organizations and causes, like Port Moody Soccer Club, Camp Jubilee, Mossom Creek Hatchery as well as scholarships for local students.

Last year’s event — the first since COVID — attracted about 45,000 visitors and organizers said they expected a boost this summer with perfect weather and people hungry to get outside, or just plain hungry.
