And a third in Metro Vancouver is on the way šŸœ

Less than three years after opening in Vancouver, a Toronto-based Japanese ramen chain with 20 locations across North America is prepping to open its second Metro Vancouver location.

Kinton Ramen will be opening a new restaurant on Lonsdale Ave. (#105 - 1325 Lonsdale Ave) in North Vancouver this month.

The first location opened on the UBC campus in the fall of 2020. A third Metro Vancouver location will be opening in Surrey later this spring.

In Toronto, Kinton has won a Platinum award in the 'Best Asian' category at the 2019 Toronto Star Reader's Choice Awards and has been voted 'Toronto's Best Ramen' by readers of NOWMagazine for six consecutive years and is hoping to inspire the same level of fandom with Vancouver ramen lovers.

To celebrate North Vancouver's grand opening, on Sunday, March 19, Kinton Ramen will be offering all guests 50 per cent off their signature dishes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The menu features hearty ramen bowls prepared with slow-cooked pork or chicken broth in five distinct styles—Original, Shoyu, Miso, Spicy Garlic and Spicy Jalapeño—with your choice of thick, thin, or shirataki (translucent konjac) noodles. There are also plant-based broth options and a choice of bamboo shoots, mushrooms, jalapeno paste, nori, and sweet corn toppings.

“We’re thrilled to join the vibrant dining scene flourishing on the North Shore and bring our unique take on West Coast ramen to North Vancouver,” says James Kim, Founder and CEO of Kinka Family which owns the Kinton Ramen chain in addition to Kinka Izakaya, JaBistro and Kintori Yakatori.
