The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.
Wildlife Helpline Volunteer Wildlife Helpline volunteers provide much-needed assistance to the care team by screening, prioritizing and answering calls on the busy Wildlife Helpline. Responsibilities include assisting the public at the admissions area in the Care Centre; taking messages for rehabilitation team; assisting with admission of patients (logging in, data entry, beginning paperwork, etc.)
Bartender Presentation House Theatre is looking for a volunteer to serve drinks (wine, beer, liquor, coffee/tea, soft drinks) to patrons before the show, during intermission and occasionally after the show.
Gallery Volunteer The Seymour Art Gallery is a non-profit community gallery located in the heart of Deep Cove, North Vancouver. They are looking for friendly, enthusiastic people who are passionate about art. They often need volunteers to help out at opening receptions and special events.
Transportation Volunteer for Wildlife Rescue The transportation volunteer provides transportation of injured wildlife for members of the public who do not have the ability to bring the animal into the facility. This interaction with the public is intended to increase public awareness about local wildlife and the services that Wildlife Rescue provides.
Education Assistant Working with the education coordinator, volunteers deliver handson programming at the museum. If you enjoy working and meeting new people and learning and sharing about West Vancouver history, this position is for you. The volunteer will be working with children at art camps and with adults at special events.
