Gift Wrapper: Volunteers are needed to wrap gifts during a holiday fundraiser for a local charity. Training is provided and shifts are available throughout the holiday season until Dec. 24.

Cook for Christmas Dinner: North Shore Neighbourhood House provides a Christmas meal for 200 people who are on their own for Christmas. Cooking duties consist of heating up the pre-made turkey and stuffing, preparing instant mashed potatoes, heating frozen vegetables and reheating prepared gravy.

Backstage Crew Volunteer: North Vancouver Community Players is looking for crew members to help with choreography, lighting and sound; construct stage sets; paint scenery; search for costumes and props; act and sing. Go to northvanplayers.ca for details.

Friendly Walker: A volunteer is needed to assist frail seniors to go out on local walks for approximately 30 minutes. Some residents of The Summerhill Residence, although independent, feel more confident walking with a support person when they go on errands. The volunteer would arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to help gather any supplies and would escort the senior on their errands.

Adventure Leader/Youth Mentor: Scouts Canada is part of an international organization focused on youth development through outdoor education, leadership opportunities and team learning. Scouts offers boys and girls from kindergarten to young adult a place to challenge themselves, encourage personal growth, community involvement and healthy lifestyle.
