Computer trainers: Volunteer is needed to teach basic computer skills to women at the centre as soon as possible. Working one-onone with women interested in learning basic computer and internet skills, one hour per week. There are six lessons. Farsi speaking an asset.
School program docent: If you enjoy working with children, and you like history, this position is for you. Volunteers will work in teams as a school program docent, deciphering historic photographs and discovering 19th and early 20th century kitchen industrial equipment.
Escort volunteer: Volunteers are needed to escort elderly residents to in-house hairdresser. The shifts that need to be filled are: Mondays and Thursdays from 9: 30 a.m. to noon. A criminal record check is required as well as 40 hours volunteering within a six month period.
Teen Avengers: The Teen Avengers supports youth with developmental disabilities to acquire the skills and confidence required for healthy, independent living. The volunteer's role is to provide peer mentoring to the youth and assist in supporting the group in its planned activities.
Driver: North Shore Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteer drivers for North and West Vancouver for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
