A woman is facing a mischief charge in Richmond Provincial Court for an incident at UBC on May 29, 2024.

A trial has been set for September for a woman accused of causing mischief at UBC in May 2024.

Susan Jane Bibbings, 59, is facing one count of “wilfully obstructing, interrupting or interfering” with the use or operation of property at the University Endowment Lands.

The alleged offence took place on May 29, 2024.

On that date, police were at UBC to clear pro-Palestinian protesters who were allegedly blocking the main intersection at the university campus.

RCMP officers from UBC and Richmond as well as Vancouver police and BC Highway Patrol were involved in clearing the protesters.

Police said they were called to the intersection of University Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall where protesters were "impeding access" to the main entrance into the university.

The BC Prosecution Service didn’t confirm if this was the incident Bibbings was at as “this matter is before the courts.”

A trial is scheduled for Sept. 10 to 12 and Nov. 18.
