North Vancouver and West Vancouver continue to post very small COVID-19 infection numbers.

There were just 11 new COVID-19 infections among North Shore residents in the latest batch of data released from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control – nine in North Vancouver and two in West Vancouver.

The new cases were those reported between July 4 and July 11. In the previous week, there were 10 new cases (four in West Van, six in North Van).

As of July 13, 87 per cent of North Vancouver residents had received at least one dose of vaccine – tied with the highest in the Lower Mainland.

West Vancouver and Bowen Island residents now have a vaccination rate of 82 per cent.

As of July 15, 79.4 per cent of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 48.6 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Vancouver Coastal Health has announced they will run a drop-in vaccine clinic in the Shipyards for the week of July 19 in the Pipe Shop. It is available to anyone seeking a first dose and, if there is capacity, anyone seeking a second dose as long as it has been at least seven weeks since their first one.
