The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified a North Vancouver man stabbed to death as he tried to help his friend during a scuffle at a SkyTrain station in Burnaby on Sunday.
IHIT spokeswoman Sgt. Stephanie Ashton says 27-year-old James Enright died early in the morning after a fight broke out near the Edmonds SkyTrain Station.
She says Enright didn't know the group of people fighting, but somehow the friend he was with got into an altercation with the group. Enright stepped in to help his friend and was stabbed.
He died from the injuries sustained in the attack.
Ashton says Enright was "in the wrong place at the wrong time," adding that "he died because he tried to help someone."
IHIT is asking witnesses to come forward, specifically anyone who was in the area of the SkyTrain or Bus loop between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Sunday.
