Five North Shore residents were among the 39 youth from across B.C. to receive Silver Level Duke of Edinburgh's Awards last weekend.
Katherine Manshreck, Felisha Teja and Rakel MacDonald of North Vancouver and Kiyaana Manji and Imaan Jiwa of West Vancouver accepted their awards from Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon on April 11 in Vancouver.
To earn this award, recipients must be between 14 and 25 years old and complete four sections of the award program: volunteer service, a skill, physical recreation and an adventurous journey completion.
Winners receive a lapel pin and a certificate.
