The BC Non-Profit Housing Association are looking for a few North Shore individuals to brave the cold for a couple hours to help count the number of people braving the cold every night. The triannual Metro Vancouver homeless count takes place on March 3 and 4, but the organization currently has fewer than half of the volunteers it needs to seek out and interview people living on the North Shore’s streets. Specifically, they are looking for people who are 19 or older and consider themselves compassionate and comfortable with one-on-one conversations. A sense of humour and friendly attitude are also welcomed. The count’s organizers will provide training to volunteers and experience is not necessary.

The 2017 count tallied 100 people living homeless in North Vancouver and West Vancouver.

Deadline to apply is Feb. 21.
