Dozens of North Shore marchers turned out for the annual National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, Dec. 6.
The event was inspired by the 1989 massacre of 14 women studying at L'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. It’s now used as a platform to speak out against all forms of violence women face, including missing and murdered Aboriginal women.
This year’s march was supported by North Shore Violence Against Women in Relationships, West Vancouver Police Department, North Vancouver RCMP.
The march began at the Chief Joe Mathias Centre on Squamish Nation land and finished at the Ambleside Beach.
