Mussatto wins easily in City of North Vancouver

DARELL Mussatto handily held onto his City of North Vancouver mayor's chair in Saturday's municipal election. Unofficial results had him taking 73.8 per cent of the votes cast and defeating his closest rival, Ron Polly by 5,037 votes to 758.

Unofficial results had him taking 73.8 per cent of the votes cast and defeating his closest rival, Ron Polly by 5,037 votes to 758.

Mayoralty candidate George Pringle polled 546 votes and Chris Nichols counted 487 votes.

Former District of North Vancouver mayor and North Vancouver MP Don Bell topped the polls for a council seat with 11 per cent of the votes, tallying 3,901.

The other councillors , according to the unofficial tally will be:

Linda Buchanan, 3,790 votes;

Craig Keating, 3,642 votes;

Rod Clark, 3,106 votes;

Pam Bookham, 2,986 votes;

Guy Heywood, 2,792 votes.

Incumbent Bob Fearnley finished eighth with 2,397 votes.

School trustees representing the city on the North Vancouver Board of Education will be

Susan Skinner, Lisa Bayne and Christie Sacre.

Sacre topped former school board chairman Chris Dorais by only three votes in the unofficial results.
