One graduating student from each of the 10 North Shore public secondary schools has received a $500 award to be put towards their future arts educations.
The awards were presented throughout June by the West Vancouver Community Arts Council to recipients selected for their passion for and excellence in music.
Winners of this new student awards program include Jonty Fizer (West Vancouver), Michelle Hoskin (Windsor), Julian Stark (Sutherland), Soo Bhin Choi (Seycove), Liam McKee-Wright (Sentinel), Kate Medcalf (Argyle), Jian Steenkamp (Rockridge), Andrew Choi (Handsworth), Victor Sanchez (Carson Graham) and Summer McDonald (Mountainside Alternative).
Funds for the awards were raised by the WVCAC through the donations of its members and a fundraiser concert held last October.
