Now in its fourth decade, a popular mom-and-pop sushi restaurant with two North Shore locations is getting ready to open up shop in Vancouver.
Mr. Sushi began in the nineties in North Vancouver and now operates in Lower Lonsdale and Lynn Valley. Most recently, Mr. Sushi drew praise in the North Shore News Readers' Choice Awards as the top winner for the area's favourite Japanese restaurant.
Now, the restaurant is prepping to launch at 176 East Second Ave. in Olympic Village, on the ground floor of a mixed-use new build called Second + Main.
Back on the North Shore, Mr. Sushi takes pride in being a fixture in the community, with rolls named after longtime customers and even the Fire Chief.
On the menu are familiar sushi restaurant items, including nigiri, rolls, box combos, salads and appetizers, sashimi, donburi (rice bowls) and more. Mr. Sushi also has combos and party trays, as well as playful options like their "Sushi Pizza."
An opening date for the Vancouver Mr. Sushi location has not yet been set. Follow @mr.sushi.canada on Instagram for updates.
