MOUNTIES are hunting for a man in a white dress with pink flowers who allegedly assaulted a woman near North Vancouver's Harry Jerome recreation centre early Thursday morning.

The 23-year-old victim was walking home along East 23rd Street at about 2 a.m. when the unusually dressed suspect started to follow her, according to the RCMP. The man reportedly grabbed her and forcibly kissed her on the cheek, at which point the woman pushed him away and fled.

She ran to the nearby Harry Jerome centre where a custodian let her inside. The woman called police, but investigators were unable to locate the alleged assailant.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 30 years old, wearing a white dress with pink flowers and brown work boots. Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Vancouver detachment at 604-985-1311.
