NORTH Vancouver RCMP are looking for tips from the public after a missing man's car was found abandoned in a parking lot at Grouse Mountain.

Michael St. Laurent, 45, vanished Oct. 13 after he apparently drove his grey 1987 Volvo to the gravel parking lot near the base of the Grouse Skyride and left it there.

When no one came back to pick up the car, the incident was reported to police.

On Monday, Mounties tapped rescuers to help with the search. Members of North Shore Rescue surveyed Grouse by helicopter and explored the area around the lot by foot, but turned up no sign of the man.

"Other than the vehicle, there's no indication of direction of travel at all," said team leader Tim Jones.

St. Laurent is Caucasian, five feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone who believes they may have seen him is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
