THE YWCA is asking the community to nominate outstanding women for it's 29th annual Women of Distinction Awards.
The awards honour those whose achievements and outstanding activities contribute to the overall well-being and future of the community.
The awards are considered to be one of the most prestigious awards for women in Canada.
One of the awards honours businesses and organizations that support the diverse needs of their employees.
There are 10 individual award categories such as Environmental Sustainability, which recognizes women who are dedicated to promoting and creating a sustainable environment while generating opportunities that minimize the physical, ecological, human and economic impact on the planet.
Potential nominees must live and work in the Metro Vancouver region and businesses or organizations must also operate within the region.
