THREE doctors at Lions Gate Hospital have received grants to continue their research.
Dr. Gary Andolfatto, attending physician and research director in the emergency department, received $10,000 to further his study of procedural sedation and analgesia.
Dr. Richard Lewis, general surgeon and clinical researcher, received $5,400 to compare the results of laparoscopic versus colon surgery.
Dr. Paul Sugar, palliative care physician, received just over $4,700 to study the prevalence of hypogonadism - a condition that causes sex glands to stop producing hormones - in male palliative care patients.
The North Shore Health Research Foundation distributed the grants.
