VISITORS to the North Vancouver City library now have another way to read.
The library is now offering free of charge a mobile reading app called Zinio, which gives users access to online versions of magazines.
A recent press release from the library noted the service replicates the print version of a magazine in full colour, and multiple users can access the same issue of the same magazine at the same time on any computer or mobile device. The service also allows download of individual titles for those users who are travelling or who are out of range of an Internet connection.
The release stated the library currently has a starter collection of magazines, but is planning to add more popular titles, such as Maclean's, Newsweek, The Economist, O-The Oprah Magazine, Canadian Living, National Geographic and Car and Driver.
During the first few weeks of Zinio's debut the library will be offering some instruction sessions for new users. Online instructions and video are also available on the library's website, www.cnv.org/nvcl.
