Dear Editor:
As another public meeting is on us, the Lynn Valley Stop High-Rises group is once again stuffing flyers through mailboxes.
I encourage Lynn Valley residents to look at the facts for themselves and sort truth from fiction.
The public meetings last summer were packed with people - including the Stop High-Rises group, who were specifically invited to talk to the people checking out the displays. It was impossible not to hear their message, yet a majority of people were clear in saying that they understand the need to redevelop the Lynn Valley Centre site.
The current proposal from Bosa represents a good compromise between the people who believe that two-storey strip malls are the only acceptable thing to build, and the developers who - not surprisingly - want the best return for their investments.
With yet another Lynn Valley Centre storefront closing this month - that's seven stores, plus Zellers that are empty - it's surely time for council to step up, show leadership, and get this project moving ahead.
