Learning language at LGCA

OUR mission at Lions Gate Christian Academy is to offer opportunities for our students to engage and serve their local community and beyond.

OUR mission at Lions Gate Christian Academy is to offer opportunities for our students to engage and serve their local community and beyond.

Since 2011 students, staff and parents have had the opportunity to study German together using a combination of Rosetta Stone software and direct teaching. We are delighted to see the success of this extra-curricular program for all ages. Twelve students, a teacher and a parent will be on their way to Freiburg, Germany, in March for the first half of a German exchange trip. We will welcome our counterparts from Germany in May.

At the same time, 12 students will leave LGCA for Thailand on our third international missions trip. Students will participate in work projects that include upgrading facilities, a feeding program and tutoring children. Prior to embarking on global outreach, our students served in a local soup kitchen, participated in a North Shore cleanup, and have been involved in a variety of other projects.

These experiences help our students recognize a need and contribute to society. We are excited about these opportunities to meet, understand and help others, and to continue to develop leadership skills in our students.
