THE Vancouver Canucks were one of the more active teams on Monday's NHL trade deadline day. Vancouver sent skilled top prospect Cody Hodgson to Buffalo for more size and grit in 21-yearold Zack Kassian. The Canucks also swapped defencemen with Buffalo, receiving Marc-Andre Gragnani for Alexander Sulzer. The team then obtained checking centre Samuel Pahlsson from the Columbus Blue Jackets for two fourth round picks in 2012. What do you think? I can think of other players the Canucks could have traded to get more grit. Getting rid of Hodgson was a bad move.

Royce Crown

I am not too happy about it. I would have preferred that they traded the goalie, Luongo. Pahlsson is a good player but it will take time for him to adjust.

Mack Halloway

I think they are a bit smarter offensively. I think Pahlsson was a good choice. Hodgson might be a bit of a loss but . . . we needed more toughness.

Harlam Clark

I don't think they are a Stanley-Cup-calibre team. I don't think getting the players they did will help too much.

Todd Kauffman

Time will tell. I would rather see them win the cup today. I have waited far too long.
