Incumbent sweep in District of North Vancouver

IT was an incumbent sweep Saturday night in the District of North Vancouver municipal election. Richard Walton was re-elected mayor with 9,897 votes and 81.54 per cent of the votes cast. Challenger Margie Goodman polled 2,241 votes.

Robin Hicks topped the polls for council with 7,565 votes and 12.28 per cent of the vote.

Other totals in the unofficial tally were:

Mike Little, 7,401 votes;

Doug Mackay-Dunn 7,197 votes;

Lisa Muri, 7,173 votes;

Roger Bassam, 6,034 votes;

Alan Nixon 5,780 votes.

Holly back was the closest challenger with 5,230 votes.

Franci Stratton topped the polls for school trustee with 7,420 votes.

The other three trustees representing the district on the North Vancouver Board of Education will be:

Barry Forward with 7,273 votes;

Cyndi Gerlach, 7,049 votes;

Mike McGraw, 5,954 votes.
