Rainy days ahead: Gibsons and Sechelt brace for April's showers with up to 27mm rainfall expected

Well, the run of unseasonable bright warm weather had to end eventually.

Here's your Thursday morning look at the Sunshine Coast weather, and whats shaping up to be the rainiest day of April. 

Light showers are expected to hold steady throughout the day, with up to 27mm of rainfall in Gibsons and 18mm in Sechelt, Weatherhood predicts. 

Despite the wet weather, the temperature is expected to remain warm at around 10.4 C, with winds blowing northwest. 

Weatherhood predicts that the wet weather will stay, with overcast conditions and rainfall forecast for the next week.

Environment Canada predicts similar conditions, however, they expect that the sun will break out on April 29 and 30 for a brief break from the spring rain.

So far, the Sunshine Coast has received 20.3 mm of precipitation in April, this number is predicted to more than double over the next couple of days according to Enviroment Canada.
