Homicide squad called to Langley after man dies in hotel

He died while emergency crews were attending to him.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) were called to Langley this weekend.

Police from Langley's RCMP detachment were called to the Highway Hotel off of Highway 1 in Walnut Grove on March 25 around 8:50 p.m.

Upon arrival they found an unresponsive man, according to a press release who was in suffering from life-threatening injuries. BC Ambulance members who were on the scene as well tried to save him, but he died at the hotel.

"Based on the initial investigation at the scene, the Langley RCMP suspect foul play and secured the scene," Langley RCMP state in a press release.

IHIT was then called to the scene and is working on the investigation along with Langley RCMP and the BC Coroner's service.

"Police are currently in the evidence-gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time," state police.
