Climate Change and Trees: An educational exhibit by UBC's Faculty of Forestry that explores the effects of climate change on many of the tree species found in VanDusen's collection will run until June 9 at VanDusen Botanical Garden, 5251 Oak St., Vancouver. The exhibit consists of 19 interpretative panels, each representing a species of tree, that explore how trees in the garden are adapting (or not) to the climatic changes in southwestern B.C. Making Pleasing Places: A presentation by noted artist and naturalist Robert Bateman Wednesday, April 24, 7: 30 p.m. at VanDusen Botanical Garden, 5251 Oak St., Vancouver. Learn about the history and geography of places that have been organized with pleasing aesthetic considerations. These places range from African and New Guinea villages to the sophisticated royal palaces at Versailles. The 15th Annual Friends of the Garden Plant Sale will take place rain or shine, Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Park and Tilford Gardens, 333 Brooksbank Ave., North Vancouver. Volunteers will help with the choosing of plants suited to our climate and master gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions. Cash only. Funds raised go towards enhancing the garden.
