West Vancouver Fire and Rescue crews responded to an electrical fire on the side of Highway 1 near the Cypress bowl exit Thursday morning, after an overnight windstorm. Assistant fire chief Jeff Bush said a high tension line was knocked off its seat and energized the pole, setting fire to the scrub brush below. First responders had to wait until BC Hydro shut down the power before safely extinguishing the blaze.
