A new learning centre slated for the old Balmoral campus won't offer ESL adult education classes if a plan tabled recently a working group is accepted by the North Vancouver board of education.
At a board meeting Tuesday, April 24, a report was submitted by the Community Advisory Working Group with five recommendations about the use of the site, including that the adult ESL program not be included at the new centre.
A May 27 North Shore News story reported the North Vancouver school district voted in November 2011 to consolidate the Keith Lynn Alternative Secondary School program with other alternative school programs at the former site of Balmoral junior secondary.
The story noted the new alternate program, set to start up in Fall 2012, would consolidate the previously separate programs at KLASS, Therapeutic Day Program, Key Program, and the Youth Learning Program, as well as adult basic education.
